Давеча Сара Палин практически обвинила Обаму в том, что ее сына арестовали за domestic violence -- девушку свою избил. Ну вот как объясняет это Сара:

"My son, a combat veteran … was fighting for you all, America, in the war zone. My son, like so many others, came back a bit different, they come back hardened," she said at a Tulsa, Okla. Trump rally Wednesday, of her 26-year-old son Track, who spent a year deployed in Iraq with the Army.
"They come back wondering if there is that respect for what it is that their fellow soldiers and airman and every other member of the military so sacrificially have given to this country," she added. "And that starts from the top."
"That comes from our own President," Palin said. "Where they have to look at him and wonder, 'Do you know what we go through? Do you know what we're trying to do to secure America?'"

"Мой сын, ветеран войны, воевал за всех вас, Америка, в зоне военных действий. Мой сын, как и многие другие, вернулся несколько другим, они возвращаются домой другими... Они возвращаются, желая знать, есть ли здесь уважение к тому, что солдаты и летчики и каждый военный столь жертвенно отдали своей стране. И это начинается с самого верха... Это исходит от президента, на которого им приходится смотреть и думать "А ты знаешь, через что мы прошли? Знаешь, что мы стараемся делать, чтобы обеспечить безопасность Америки?"

Только два вопроса:
1. Что ж ты, сука, раньше не думала о том, на что и, главное, зачем мы посылали в Ирак этих мальчиков и девочек?
2. Если бы Обама оказал бОльшее уважение (а это -- как именно?), твой сын не избил бы свою девушку?

ЗЫ: И не надо потом говорить, как это любит делать Арбат, что это не она говорила, а Тина Фей в ее образе.

Это еще не вся ее речь. Дальше она сказала, что Обама плохой главнокомандующий, а нужен хороший, как Трамп, который всем наваляет. Т.е она готова и дальше посылать солдать воевать, а в пост-травматическом синдроме ее сына виновата не война, а Обама. Так что к твоим вопросам добавляется третий - "О чем ты, сука, сейчас думаешь, собираясь опять посылать кого-нибудь повоевать?"
Да ни о чем она не думает, ей нечем. Это альтернативно-одаренная особь?
Она еще, помнится, очень за семейные ценности ратует, и детей у нее пять, что ли. И она очень в прошлую компанию распиналась, как она их хорошо воспитывает. В прошлую компанию ей несовершеннолетняя дочка свинью подложила, теперь сына Обама не уважил, и он девушку побил...

Но все это в контексте истории с сыном, так что получается, что Обама таки виноват. Если бы она те же самые слова произнесла в другом контексте, можно было бы несколько иначе проинтерпретировать, а тут...

Сказала она то что сказала - "не оказал уважения". Но допустим, она имела в виду, что ветеранам не оказали необходимой помощи в реабилитации ( психической, заметь, реабилитации - дело это очень непростое, и очень дорогостоящее). А теперь у меня вопрос - почему рабилитировать ветеранов должен был Обама? Это разве входит в обязанности президента? Или вообще исполнительной власти? Разве главнокоммандующий утверждает расходы на лечение ветеранов? Э-э, нет. Это вопрос распределения государственных средств предназначенных либо на лечение граждан - т.е. надо у кого-то забрать, и отдать ветеранам, либо средств из оборонного бюджета - не новые танки, самолеты и прочие нужности, а лечить ветеранов. И то, и другое - вопросы распределения бюджетных денег, а бюджет у нас составляет не Президент, а Конгресс. Значит на лечение ветеранов надо или перекладывать уже имеющиеся денюжки, или ( пардон муа) налоги поднимать. Что из этих двух очевидных решений предлагает Сара Пейлин? Ни то, ни другое. Она предлагает избрать президентом и соответственно Верховным Главнокомандующим решительного Трампа, который, в отличие от Обамы...будет лечить ветеранов? - три ха-ха - он наваляет ИГИЛ. По жопе. А как же ветераны? Их же от этого только больше станет? Их то кто будет рабилитировать? Или им все-таки одного уважения достаточно?

И кстати, я, как всегда, интересуюсь знать, а на чьи бабки Трамп будет давать ИГИЛу по жопе? И потом реабилитировать пострадавших? Сдается мне, что на мои. Вот так всегда с республиканцами. Не успеешь отвернуться, а они уже тебе руку в карман по локоть засунули и шуршат. Демократы в этом смысле хоть честные, а эти еще и лицемеры. Я бы в рассчет каждой военной операции заложила бы расходы на реабилитацию ветеранов и встраивание их в мирную жизнь. Глядишь желающих повоевать резко убавится.

Я об этом мало что знаю, у меня нет знакомых ветеранов, поэтому никак не вижу. Помнню, была история с тем, что ветеранам негде лечиться, вернее, им ветеранских госпиталей не хватает, очереди длинные, так вроде этот вопрос решили, разрешив им лечиться в обычных госпиталях.

А ты как видишь?

and this "obama did not take care of teh veterans" - is silly. it is not his job anyway, and the VA does what it can, but what do they do - home visits for all discharged?? to make sure they have milk and cookies and not bourbon??> COME ON>

i do not see "silliness" per se

VA is a governmental agency, O is the head of the administration.
VA is not at it's best shape at the moment with all the scandals with healthcare etc.

when a person is not happy with the particular governmental deed it is semantically acceptable to refer to the head of the government as to the whole administration and vise versa

ppl use putin and russian government, obama and US government, cameron and UK government, interchangeably
it is an acceptable practice bcoz the head of the government shares the responsibility.

in this particular case, Obama is responsible for VA malfunctions as any president would.

i will answer you and Nin later. i am intimately familiar with 3 VAs, somewhat familiar with 2 more, and have treated veterans of WW II, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf, Afganistan, and Iraq.

my point is:
VA is a governmental agency that is not being run properly - i think we can agree on that

Obama - as a top executive - is responsible for this - as any other president would

the question is simple

do we or do we not have an adequate veteran services?

if we do and veterans are well respected and well served - than she is stupid on the particular count.

if we do not (meaning that we do have problems is veterans' health care and their integration programs) - than she is not stupid on the particular count.

Вообще-то это Моля перевела разговор на VA. Сара сказала то, что сказала: они возвращаются, пытаясь понять, достаточно ли уважения им оказывают (подразумевается, видимо, что недостаточно), и начинается это с самого верха, с Обамы.

Что касается VA, то проблемы там были из-за нехватки мест в их госпиталях и докторов. Для того, чтобы ветеранам оплачивалось лечение за пределами их системы, таки нужны средства, о чем и писала вам Лиля.

Но я соглашусь с Молей, что я очень далека от проблем ветеранов, поэтому мои суждения -- поверхностные, со стороны. Подождем, что Моля напишет.
