Ninich, for fear of sounding like ivan the idiot - i will still say it.
what our land"...??? the post-soviet space was divvied up pretty arbitrarily. some borders were more obvious than others... this high pathos of "our land" does not reach me. is Donetzk "our land"? my donetzk friends don't think so at all. is the hijacked (illegally, yes) Crimea "our land" for eitehr russians or ukranians - legally it is ukranian, yes, but is it really, according to the people who live there? i am not so sure as you that htey view their poluostrov as "ukranian territory".-
so you and some of the best people i know - Greeb, for instance - commit the fallacy of "emotional politics". unemotionally speaking - Crimea is Ukraine, annexed illegally, for which Russia is paying now. but "our land" - no, it is a contested land, a disputed land parcel, not given by god to the citizens of Ukraine, and a great illustration of how nebulous are russia's or ukraine's claims on border lands are. ditto donbass. forced to nationalize, this poor region chose russia, and is still paying for it - in blood. but is it "our land" - by no means.
land changes hands. that is.. the rule of the land.
