I don't just mean that we behave differently in those parallel universes - you don't, for example, and I do, and as you know well, people can be cagier here or more frontal here than there. I mean this - look at your 'tusovka' outside the internets - there really are NO PROBLEMs and no adversity and no "srach" and.. just the joy of getting together with freinds, no more no less. Now look here - wow. From one scandal into another we march, often side by side :-))
So.... he is 100% wrong. The reason for the scandals is trifold -
1. our own reactive nature, which finds an outlet here
2. the nature of the beast - ANY internet-forum or portal, even my professional ones or Dublya's where he is the guru - all of them have unpleasantness and discord which is absent from our lives.
3. the nature of the people we meet here - we interact on the nets with the folks we would have never seen in body, or want to - conflict is inevitable.
Having said that, 3. can be a blessing, too. Would I ever have encountered Xaxam, for example?? and you! Kisa! etc!
Thus, all on-line communities have similar issues. Ours is one of more radicalized ones, that's all.... But no more agressive than many american ones, in my experience.
